Abstract

Iranian Turanian forests, which are located in arid to semi-arid regions, have unique conditions in terms of species diversity and climatic conditions. Management and protection of these forests requires a comprehensive study of living and non-living factors such as climatic factors, soil factors, physiographic factors on forests and vegetation. This research was conducted in Gaz forests of Varamin city and regression models and artificial neural networks were used to identify the influencing factors and finally model them. For this purpose, first descriptive factors (environmental variables) are used, including climatic parameters (temperature and precipitation), soil (fertility, organic matter, soil texture) and topography (slope, direction and altitude) as the most important. The input variables of the processing neurons were determined and finally the environmental factors affecting the vegetation were determined using neural networks and regression models. The results show that in relation to the canopy, the diameter factor and the amount of soil nitrogen were important variables and in relation to the diameter, the canopy level and height were important and effective factors. Therefore, in order to increase vegetation in the region, it seems necessary to pay attention to soil protection and also to prevent soil erosion and take necessary measures to increase soil nutrients, because due to the sharp decline in the level of these valuable forests and the effective role in preventing Due to desertification, it is necessary to take more necessary management measures to protect and rehabilitate the soil.
