Abstract

Understanding the ecological characteristics of plant species and how they react to environmental factors provides the necessary information to manage the improvement and exploitation of rangelands. The distribution of plant species under the influence of ecological factors such as soil, topography, climate and turbulence are among the important issues in the management and restoration of rangeland ecosystems. Study and research on the response of plant species to changes in environmental factors, provides valuable information to determine the ecological needs of plant species, provide basic knowledge to introduce suitable species for restoration of degraded rangelands, forage production, vegetation management and other objectives of rangeland management. This project was conducted to complete information about Salsola arbusculiformis Drob, which is one of the important rangeland species in the northeast of Golestan province, with emphasis on determining ecological factors affecting the distribution of plant species and examining the response of plant species to changes in ecological factors using qualitative analysis method. In this study, soil and topographic factors were studied and qualitatively and quantitatively were analyzed. The results of this study showed that altitude along with soil characteristics including soil texture of the region are two factors influencing the establishment of the species, while other factors including climate, slope and soil acidity are also influential factors in distribution of this plant species that are in the next ranks. Also, in terms of phenology, the growth time of this plant was in the second half of February,
