In order to investigate the effect of salinity stress on the growth factors, proline and auxin contents of two cultivars of rainfed wheat (Triticum aestivum L.), the wheat seeds were pretreated with Bacillus subtilis POE26, then the seedlings were planted in pots in controlled laboratory conditions and were irrigated with Hoagland nutrient solution containing 6 different Sodium chloride (NaCl)levels. The plants were harvested at the 4 leaves stage and growth factors and proline and auxin contents were assessed. The results showed a significant difference in the growth of aerial parts between pretreated and non-pretreated plants in different salinity levels. The bacteria increased the germination of seeds only at the high NaCl concentration. Pretreatment of wheat seeds with bacteria increased the auxin content of the plants. The role of bacteria in changing root length was without the involvement of proline. In conclusion, pretreatment of wheat seeds with auxin producing bacteria altered the growth factors, and especially increased the leaf area under salinity stress.

The usual method of Haworthia attenuatae propagation hasn’t commercial returns due to the low number of offsets and rooting of leaf cuttings. In the present study, micro-propagation of this plant was evaluated using leaf explants and BAP, and KIN (0.5, 1 and 2 mg / l) in combination with NAA (0, 0.01, 0.1 and 0.5 mg/l). The results showed that the maximum number of shoots was regenerated using BAP in combination with NAA from the basal leaf segment explant. The maximum number of leaves (3.55) and the longest leaves (0.61 cm) were obtained on medium containing 2 mg/l BAP and 0.01 mg/l NAA using the basal leaf segment explant and the widest Leaves (0.44 to 0.48 cm) was observed on the medium containing 2 mg/l BAP without or with low concentration of NAA. The results of KIN application showed that the longest leaves (0.56 cm) with the maximum numbers (2.45) were obtained on medium containing 2 mg/l KIN and 0.01 mg/l NAA from the entire leaf explant. More over, the widest leaves (0.87 cm) was produced on medium supplemented with 2 mg/l KIN. The findings of rooting on MS and½ MS media supplemented with 0, 0.5, 1, 1.5 mg/l NAA showed that the highest number (4.33) and the longest roots (2.16 cm) were produced on ½MS medium containing 0.5 mg/l NAA. 90% of rooted plantlets were adapted to the greenhouse environment. Totally, the accurate optimization of this protocol can be applied to commercial micro-propagation of H. Attenuatae from leaf explants.

Production of medicinal plants and the use of methods to increase the production of active ingredient of its is a significant thing to enter the global market, currency and competition with other countries. The aim of this study was to investigate the changes in some morpho-physiological traits of German chamomile due to the application of three types of abiotic elicitors. In this study, chamomile leaves with different concentrations of elicitors were sprayed separately at three different weeks (6, 8 and 10) and then at two different times (48hours after solution and end of vegetative growth) leaf samples were collected and plant fresh and dry weight, chlorophyll a, b and total, carotenoids and protein were measured. The results showed that the highest amount of dry weight, total chlorophyll, carotenoids and protein with salicylic acid in both stages of growth at concentration of 250mM in the sixth and tenth weeks, with jasmonic acid in both stages of growth at concentration of 100mM in the sixth, eighth and tenth weeks and with methyl jasmonate at both stages of growth at concentrations of 50, 100 and 150mM in the sixth, eighth and tenth weeks was obtained. Comparison of the studied traits showed that the long-term effects of methyl jasmonate lasted until the sixth week, but the effects of jasmonic acid lasted until the eighth week and salicylic acid until the tenth week. Therefore, it seems that the long-term effects of salicylic acid are greater than jasmonic acid and this is better than methyl jasmonate.

Extensive and unlimited use of nanoparticles has attracted the attention of researchers to study their environmental effects. In this study, the effects of nano and bulk nickel oxide treatments on nutrients accumulation and gene expression of fennel were investigated. Nanoparticle sizer was used to measure particle size and zeta potential, XRD for the crystal structure and AFM for particle size. After planting the plants in greenhouse conditions and treatment with nano and bulk NiO, the content of different nutrients in the roots and leaves of the plant and antioxidant enzymes gene expression by Real-Time PCR, were investigated. The results showed that in the control the highest accumulation of elements occurred and tha applied treatments, especially 20 ppm nano, did not prevent the movement of elements to the leaf and at this concentration the displacement of elements except Ca and Na to the leaf was significant. Bulk NiO showed a greater decreasing effect on element uptake. Increased expression of ndhH gene was observed in all nano and bulk concentrations in comparison with the control and the highest increase was related to 800 ppm. In relation to ndhD gene, a decrease in gene expression was observed in different concentrations of nano and bulk NiO compared to the control, which is probably due to the involvement of other detoxification pathways against stress. According to the mentioned cases, it seems that fennel plant is resistant to nano and bulk NiO.

Nowadays, plant growth regulators are widely used as growth stimulants in different plants production. For this purpose, an experiment was conducted as greenhouse and in a completely randomized design with four replications. Experimental treatments consisting of gibberellin and paclobutrazol growth regulators in seven treatments included off without the use of growth regulators, full use of gibberellin (100 mg.L-1), full use of gibberellin + use of 50% paclobutrazol, full use of gibberellin + full use of paclobutrazol, use of 50% gibberellin + full use of paclobutrazol, use of 50% gibberellin + use of 50% paclobutrazol and full use of paclobutrazol (150 mg.L-1). The results showed that full use of gibberellin + full use of paclobutrazol compared to control treatment (without the use of growth regulators) improves plant quantity traits such as plant fresh and dry weight, fruit yield and fruit number per plant. However, the lowest activity of the antioxidant enzymes of superoxide dismutase and ascorbate peroxidase was obtained from the application of the same treatment. The results of a separate comparison of the two growth regulators used in this experiment also indicated that in all studied traits except plant height the use of paclobutrazol plant growth regulator had a more favorable effect on the mentioned traits compared to gibberellin. In this experiment, the lowest amount of studied traits except fruit weight per plant was obtained from the control treatment. In addition, none of the plant growth regulators hadn’t any significant effect on the essence content of the plant.

Every year, human activities introduce large amounts of synthetic plastics into the environment, with negative effects on the growth and survival of living organisms (including plants). It is necessary to remove these pollutants with different methods, especially biological ones. The purpose of this research is to isolate low-density polyethylene (LDPE) degrading bacteria and investigate the toxicity test solution containing bacteria and polyethylene on the growth indicators of Lactuca sativa seeds due to the high sensitivity of this plant to environmental pollution. The effect of five bacterial strains isolated from the landfill soil of Hamadan province was investigated on the percentage of seed germination (SG), hypocotyl elongation (HE), root elongation (RE) and germination index (GI) of lettuce seeds. Strains of B6, B22, B23 and A20 increased the HE and SG growth indexes of lettuce seeds compared to the treatment containing MS medium and polyethylene (MS+PE). B28 strain had a lower performance in all indices than other strains. The results of this experiment showed that because the sensitive lettuce plant was able to grow in this condition, probably the biodegradation of polyethylene by these strains is consistent with Environment. In the treatment of different strains, hydrolysis products with different amounts were identified by GC-MS analysis. The highest production amount of common hydrolysis product among all strains was related to the treatment of strain B6.

Rice (<em>Oryza sativa</em> L.) is important staple food of Asia. The present study was designed to investigate the effect of nanosilicon solution (6 g L-1) on salinity tolerance of three varieties of Tarommahalli, Tolerant FL478 and Barekat rice in saline paddy (EC=5-8) at flowering stage in order to study their morphological and biochemical traits. The experiment was conducted in 2020 and 2021 in the form of factorial design on a completely random basis with three replications in Mazandaran province in Iran. The results showed that nanosilicon solution caused height of plant to be decreased (138.83 cm) and increased diameter of the root crown (10.17 cm) of the Tarommahalli grown in saline paddy compared to other varieties, compared to control (Tarommahalli grown in non-saline paddy) and to salinity (Tarommahalli grown in saline paddy). The dry weight of shoot and root (88.04 and 7.075 g respectively) were increased compared to the control (P≤0.05). In treated Tarommahalli, the amount of proline (0.584 mg g-1 (FW)) and SOD, CAT, POD, and PPO (0.536 % ml-1 mg-1 g (FW), 1.184, 18.06 and 388.18 µmol min-1 mg-1 protein respectively) significantly increased but the amount of H2O2 (0.160 μmol g-1 (FW)) and MDA (0.004 μmol g-1 (FW) significantly decreased. The results showed that the application of nanosilicon solution effected on height of plant to be reduced and also increased strengthen of Tarommahalli rice againt salinity which was facilitated rice harvesting.
