Applying EDTA to soil is a strategy to increase the heavy metal phytoremediation, but such chelators usually cause phytotoxicity and side effects. Therefore, the aim of this present study was to evaluate the effects of EDTA application on physiological and biochemical characteristics of Chenopodium botrys L. under Cd treatment in soil. In this study, the effect of EDTA (0, 3, 6 and 12 mmol kg-1) on the amount of cadmium absorbed by plant tissues, leaf relative water content, membrane stability index, photosynthetic pigments content, soluble carbohydrate content, total protein content and antioxidant enzyme activity and seed protein pattern of C. botrys were examined under Cd stress (0, 75, 150 and 225 mg kg-1). The results of this study showed that the addition of EDTA to the soil increased the concentration of Cd in shoot and roots of C. botrys. The application of EDTA reduced the leaf relative water content, membrane stability index and increased the photosynthetic pigments content and soluble carbohydrates content. Also changes in seed protein pattern, beside increase in total protein content and activity of antioxidant enzymes were observed in plants treated by Cd and EDTA, suggesting that this treatment was helpful in reducing of oxidative stress in C. botrys under Cd treatment. Based on the results, C. botrys is suitable for phytoremediation of soil contaminated with Cd. In addition, EDTA can play a significant role in removing this metal through transferring it from the soil to the plant.}, keywords = {chelating agent,heavy metal stress,oxidative Stress,Phytoremediation}, title_fa = {اثر EDTAبر برخی خصوصیات فیزیولوژیکی سلمک اورشلیمی (Chenopodium botrys L.) تحت تنش کادمیوم}, abstract_fa = {کادمیوم (Cd) یکی از آلاینده‌های اصلی خاک است. کاربرد EDTA در خاک یک استراتژی برای افزایش گیاه-پالایی فلزات سنگین است، اما چنین کلات‌کننده‌هایی معمولا باعث سمیت گیاهی و عوارض جانبی می‌شوند. بنابراین، هدف مطالعه حاضر بررسی اثرات کاربرد EDTA بر ویژگی‌های فیزیولوژیکی و بیوشیمیایی سلمک اورشلیمی تحت سطوح تیماری مختلف کادمیوم در خاک بود. دراین پژوهش،اثر EDTA (0، 3، 6 و 12 میلی‌مول در کیلوگرم) بر مقدار کادمیوم جذب شده توسط بافت‌های گیاهی، محتوای نسبی آب برگ، شاخص پایداری غشا، محتوای رنگیزه‌های فتوسنتزی، محتوای کربوهیدرات‌های محلول، محتوای پروتئین کل و فعالیت آنزیم‌های آنتی‌اکسیدانی و الگوی پروتئین بذر سلمک اورشلیمی تحت تنش کادمیوم (0، 75، 150 و 225 میلی‌گرم در کیلوگرم) بررسی شد. نتایج حاصل از این پژوهش نشان داد که افزودن EDTA به خاک غلظت کادمیوم اندام‌های هوایی و ریشه سلمک اورشلیمی تحت تیمار کادمیوم را افزایش داد. کاربرد EDTA باعث کاهش محتوای نسبی آب برگ، شاخص پایداری غشا و افزایش محتوای رنگیزه‌‌های فتوسنتزی و کربوهیدرات‌های محلول شد. همچنین تغییرات در الگوی پروتئین بذر، افزایش محتوای پروتئین کل و فعالیت آنزیم‌های آنتی‌اکسیدانی در گیاهان تیمار شده با کادمیوم و EDTA مشاهده شد که نشان می‌دهد این تیمار در کاهش تنش اکسیداتیو در سلمک اورشلیمی تحت تیمار Cd مفید بوده است. بر اساس نتایج، سلمک اورشلیمی گیاهی مناسب برای گیاه پالایی خاک‌های آلوده به کادمیوم است. علاوه‌بر‌این، EDTA می-تواند نقش مهمی در حذف این فلز از طریق انتقال آن از خاک به گیاه داشته باشد.}, keywords_fa = {تنش اکسیداتیو,تنش فلزات سنگین,عامل کلات‌کننده,گیاهپالایی}, url = {https://plant.ijbio.ir/article_2158.html}, eprint = {https://plant.ijbio.ir/article_2158_f3b975456a905c8c1129e059fee80166.pdf} }
